Mentorship at Christ College of Engineering

In 2022, Christ College of Engineering took on an exciting venture – a new program in SRE DevOps. It drew in 50 eager participants keen on Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps. The journey kicked off at 5 am, with 21 students diving into Python and DevOps training. The program wasn't just a class; it was an immersive experience, carefully designed for focused learning.

Understanding the value of guidance, a mentorship program was introduced. Each student had a mentor, offering support through regular one-on-one sessions. The 21 participants formed three teams, each specializing in a DevOps topic. Collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and evening sync sessions became the norm. Beyond tech, the program emphasized soft skills through personality training and healthy habits sessions.

Collaboration was key. The program seamlessly integrated with college management, forming strategic partnerships with internal organizations for real-world applications. The peak was an immersive bootcamp led by industry experts – Vivek, Arvind, Aromal, and Ramdev – bridging theory with industry demands.

A team-building trip added a chapter of memories. The outcome: a knowledgeable cohort, a mentorship model fostering camaraderie, and holistic development. The SRE DevOps Batch of 2022 wasn't just an academic success; it was a story of learning, collaboration, and personal growth – a testament to the college's vision, industry expertise, and the participants' spirit in the world of SRE and DevOps.
